What SMYC is
SMYC is a community photography and storytelling platform. We provide the platform; you provide the photos and stories.
Your content, your responsibility
When you upload a photo, you confirm that: (1) you took the photo yourself or have explicit permission to share it, (2) the photo doesn't contain identifiable people without their consent, (3) the story you wrote is true and your own.
You keep the rights to your photo. By uploading, you grant SMYC a worldwide, non-exclusive license to display it on this platform, in our newsletters, and in marketing materials. You can revoke this license at any time by requesting photo deletion.
What we don't allow
- Photos that aren't yours.
- Hate speech, harassment, or content targeting specific people or groups.
- Explicit sexual content or graphic violence.
- Misleading captions (e.g., AI-generated images presented as real photos).
- Anything illegal where the platform is hosted.
We remove content that violates these rules. Repeat violators are banned.
Voting
One vote per person per photo. Vote manipulation (bots, coordinated inauthentic behavior) results in vote reset and account ban.
Sponsorships
Sponsors (tourism boards, brands) can support countries or regions. Sponsorship does not affect what wins on the leaderboard. That's community-voted. Sponsored content is clearly labeled.
Disclaimer
We provide SMYC "as is." We do our best to keep it running but we don't promise it'll always be available or bug-free. We're not liable for content posted by users.
Changes
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with a new "last updated" date.
